Sugary Pecans or Walnuts

When I first saw this recipe, I thought, "yuck - sour cream?" My sister claimed it was good.  She made it, I ate it and gained 5 pounds.


1 1/2 c sugar
1/2 c sour cream
1 t vanilla extract
1 bag walnuts or pecans - (it's those medium sized bags - probably about 2 cups or 8 oz.)


Heat sugar, sour cream, vanilla to boiling. Boil for 4 minutes. Stir in nuts. Quickly spread on parchment paper before it cools.

When it says quickly spread, it means it. These cool rapidly, so you need to dish them out fast. Once dried, they can be stored in a parchment lined tin.
