I Corinthians 15:51-58
Faith is a big word in God’s dictionary ! We are asked to accept God and his word by faith! Paul wrote; ‘Faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the word of God.”
God’s kingdom is invisible to the human eye. “The kingdom of God cometh not by observation.” See Luke 17:20. We believe this also, by faith having never seen it.
The Christian today, in our troubled times, must have solid rock faith for courage. Whatever we face in trouble, trial, opposition, threats, or discouragement, there is a present help in the time of need. “My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.” I believe that all our living for the Lord is real, vital to make heaven. Heaven is not a myth as some would say, but is my future home. Jesus was born to save this lost world and take the saved to live in heaven. The bible calls it that blessed hope. The resurrection is a promise from God.
I. THE RESURRECTION IS GOD’S SIGNATURE OF FAITH.
A poll of twelve million church members found 28% did not believe in a literal resurrection. Fifteen percent of the ministers would not assent to believing that Jesus’ resurrection is our pledge of assurance of eternal life. I thought everybody believed the death, burial and resurrection was the main core of the gospel message. Doubt robs us of an abundant life in Christ Jesus.
DOUBT LEAVES US CARNAL MINDED AND IN A WORLD WITHOUT MEANING!
Faith believes in Christ’s resurrection and through his life giving word assures us of everlasting life.
“Because I live ye shall live also.”
“I am the resurrection and the life.”
“Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."
II. RESURRECTION MEANING TO THE BELIEVER.
It reveals God’s care and concern for our need of salvation and guidance.
Salvation shows the power of God to transform sinners, no matter what they were
The gospel reveals the provisions he has made for the saints.
III. THE HOPE OF A RESURRECTION WAS INSPIRING.
JOB LOOKED FOR ONE.
“Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were printed in a book! That they were graven with a iron pen and lead in the rock forever! For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another, though my reins be consumed within me. Job surely had conversations with God to have that knowledge and assurance. What if we drew closer to God’s presence? Would we have such confidence about the resurrection?
Please read scriptures about the resurrection and pray for greater knowledge!
